A humble request…
Please forgive this intrusion: if your help were not truly needed I would not be bothering you. I know you are aware of the events that took place in Vancouver on June 15th 2011.
These events, and the media coverage that has followed have painted the city in a light, though momentarily accurate, that does not reflect the true spirit of the people of Vancouver.
With that in mind, a united group of citizens have come together to promote a grassroots initiative to change the perceptions brought on by these acts. It is of great importance that the public and media have an opportunity to share a positive experience with the world and with each other.
In a symbolic gesture, we invite anyone that wishes to effect positive change to join with us on Weds June 22nd at 8:00 PM at the corner of Georgia St. and Hamilton St. to sing Canada’s National Anthem.
It’s time to wear our hearts on our sleeves and reaffirm the pride that we feel for this amazing city and our great country….in order to make this a resounding success, we need your help.
It is not without trepidation that I ask for your support, this is in the end a very personal request. I have great admiration for what you do, that said it is my belief that to truly heal, learn and grow as a nation, a city, citizens and most importantly people we must actively follow a path of positive reinforcement while at the same time seeking restitution by those that are responsible for the specific acts of last Wednesday night.
Your support would be greatly appreciated in whatever way you might feel comfortable. If I can answer any questions for you or give you further information about the projects goals, how you might be able to help or the impetus behind it please feel free to contact me via the information below.
Sincerely,
Andrew McCallum & Public Transit Social Media Co.
